OK, you peeked my interest. Where is it documented that IE cache
harbors Trojans?

Certainly that's a good point. However FF 1.0.7 is probably less than
six months old, I was not aware that 1.5 was even out. (Checked, it was
installed on my machine on 9/20/2005) Additionally, due to increased
security I no longer have admin access to my PC here at work and I now
have to submit a security form any time I want to upgrade anything.

Someone mentioned that they run a full system virus scan whenever they
use IE. I don't think that is an over-reaction. I finally quit using
IE entirely when I found that the IE cache was harboring trojans that my
virus scan couldn't clean.

My original question was: Why doesn't this page allow unsupported
browsers to continue, or at least present a "browser not supported"
message instead of some cryptic message with no info and circular links?

I don't really want to get into a discussion of the various features of
dozens of browsers, I just want to know why anyone would write code that
excludes one browser over another. I can use any number of 5250 or
telnet clients to access my iSeries and I don't ever get a message that
says: "Your request cannot be displayed."
