I don't know that it's documented anywhere, but I saw it with my own eyes. My mother's PC was having problems so I updated her anti-virus (AVG Free on WinXP) and ran a full system virus scan. It cleaned most of the virus' the first time but one kept coming back no matter what I did. I finally tracked it to the IE cache. Opened IE, Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files... > Delete all offline content. Then ran the full system virus scan again and finally it was clean. Keep in mind that my mother (65 yo) barely knows how to open attachments. She uses Hotmail, which runs AV against all emails. I believe that she caught this virus from some website while surfing and IE allowed it to install itself. Where is it documented that IE cache harbors Trojans? However FF 1.0.7 is probably less than six months old, I was not aware that 1.5 was even out. (Checked, it was installed on my machine on 9/20/2005) Additionally, due to increased security I no longer have admin access to my PC here at work and I now have to submit a security form any time I want to upgrade anything. Someone mentioned that they run a full system virus scan whenever they use IE. I don't think that is an over-reaction. I finally quit using IE entirely when I found that the IE cache was harboring trojans that my virus scan couldn't clean. My original question was: Why doesn't this page allow unsupported browsers to continue, or at least present a "browser not supported" message instead of some cryptic message with no info and circular links? I don't really want to get into a discussion of the various features of dozens of browsers, I just want to know why anyone would write code that excludes one browser over another. I can use any number of 5250 or telnet clients to access my iSeries and I don't ever get a message that says: "Your request cannot be displayed."
