John, Thanks for info. Another question: 1) Your take a HD from the AS/400 - reformat it on a PC. 2) Then you take the same HD, install it again into AS/400. Can the HD be 'low level' reformatted on AS/400 - from the PC/SCSI format ?? Guy - in his mail, wants to resell the HD - and I asume as an AS/400 HD. I've done it numerous times. You may need to re-lowlevel format the drives (using the SCSI card's built-in utils), but after that the drives are perfectly normal. If you google around for "DOD wipe" or "secure drive erase" sort of terms, you should find something either freeware or reasonably cheap. I don't recall what we use here off-hand.
