Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. We want to resell these
drives so I don't think the barbeque method will work for us but I will
use plenty of beer. I was thinking of deleting the production libraries
and writing to a file until the check light came on. The "Install them
in a PC with a SCSI card & use a cheap/freeware DODWipe to zero the
drives" sounds possible. Are there any good suggestions out there?

If they are raided, just break the arrays by throwing some of them away
today out of some of the arrays and other another day. Can't read the
data
if the arrays are broken. I believe

We are going to get rid of some disks. How do I do a complete

Just light the barbecue and roast them. Its not a big deal.

I believe beer is important to the process?

Seriously, what does your organization do with paper records that are
being
disposed? The process would be similar, wouldn't it? I used to take
the
stuff to the landfill and ask the bulldozer operator to ruin & bury them
for
me while I watched. They always were happy to oblige.

In all seriousness...

Install them in a PC with a SCSI card & use a cheap/freeware DODWipe to
zero the drives.
