I would not call it complaining ... more like critical encouragment. :) By the end of this year MS will be at the start of another 5 year product cycle. 64 bit windows, .NET 2.0. Bill Gates gave a demo at the recent WinHec of sql server 2005 running on 64 bit w2k3. In a side by side demo of the current sql server and the soon to be release version, the new version ran 4x faster. I am sure IBM and Linux and AIX are seeing similar improvements in the systems they are focused on. By the end of this year PHP will be integrated with java running in Linux partitions on the iSeries. But RPG and native green screen iSeries applications will stay the same.
