Kathy: Again, rather than FTP to the QSYS.lib file system, this would be much cleaner into the ifs. Create a directory called /edidatain When they logon to the FTP server, have them do a cd /edidatain, then the PUT. You may have to have them do a QUOTE NAMEFMT 1 subcommand first. The IFS is better equipped to handle this type of data. Then you can control moving it back to QSYS.lib. We handle tons of EDI via FTP and it all comes into the IFS first. cjg Carl J.
