Perhaps the DNS record had changed and is now pointing to a different system? I also thought the FTP server responses did not look like an iSeries. Since you are receiving EDI data, it is probably better to received the stream file into the IFS, and then use a cpyfrmstmf to convert it to either an 80 byte fixed record, or unwrap the data using cpyfrmimpf specifying a delimiter (the segment terminator). cjg Carl J.
