In a nutshell, It's like a warranty/insurance for your software. It also entitles you to service and support and free upgrades as they become available. Do you need it? Only if you want your business and your computers to keep moving forward and staying competitive. I really hate this part of my job. It's frustrating year after year to have to argue and defend the cost of ongoing support for our systems. Hopefully, if you've had support in the past, you have used it. I will usually explain to my "superiors" how in the past 12 months we had x number of problems that were potentially crippling to our business, with support services, I was able to contact someone at IBM and get a solution within minutes, thus preventing any loss of business. It was a fight to get the Hardware support paid. Can anybody provide me with links to information on the need for the Software support? I am not having much luck. Is there a spot on the IBM website that explains what Software support is? THANKS
