We got it straightened out and I will agree that IBM is not alone in the problems we had, but it was one of the most frustrating times I have ever had. Took us three months to get a key reissued and as it turns out, the records were correct on the sales side but the key center was looking at old information. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2005 4:52 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Key Center (was WOW) Now that sounds like fun. It's been a while, but my last experience with the key center was even less fun than getting a root canal. Fortunately, I had Buell Duncan's phone number. You shoulda heard the key center folks sit up and pay attention when I conferenced in Buell on a discussion I was having with them regarding entitlement issues...... :-)) Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx Larry Bolhuis <lbolhuis@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces+pnelson=arbsol.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx 04/13/2005 04:46 PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc: Subject: Re: Key Center (was WOW) Apparently you've never worked with RedHat! You think the key center is bad (and it's really not any more though sporadic troubles exist) RedHat is a nightmare. If you lose your entitlements they basically are helpless to get you replacements even if you prove who you are, that you ordered them that you paid for them etc. They'll even agree that yes you own them and that they sent them to you, but they can't resend. Simply incredible. - Larry dpalme@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote: >No complaints from me on that :) Although I do think that IBM needs to >improve their processes within the key center, I have never had as much >trouble getting a license key as I have with the key center. > > -- Larry Bolhuis IBM eServer Certified Systems Expert: Vice President iSeries Technical Solutions V5R3 Arbor Solutions, Inc. iSeries LPAR Technical Solutions V5R3 1345 Monroe NW Suite 259 iSeries Linux Technical Solutions V5R3 Grand Rapids, MI 49505 iSeries Windows Integration Technical Solutions V5R3 IBM eServer Certified Systems Specialist (616) 451-2500 iSeries System Administrator for OS/400 V5R3 (616) 451-2571 - Fax AS/400 RPG IV Developer (616) 260-4746 - Cell iSeries System Command Operations V5R2 If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
