Create a *WSCST object for the printer. The WSCST specifies the form feed,
line feed, postion cursor commands and all that glop. The printer API
manual gives you the form for the source. Then use the CRTWSCST command to
compile it. Create an *OUTQ for the printer and specify the MFRTYPMDL as
*WSCST and specify the name and library of your *WSCST.

Subject
Write my own printer driver

Hi midrangers,

I'm in a situation where I would like to support a printer that is
unsupported natively by the iSeries.

I've got the technical specs for the printer, and I've written RPG code
in the past to drive the printer, but I want this printer to be able to
accept any *SCS spooled file on the system, not just spools especially
written for this printer.

Can I write my own printer driver?

Any particularly good resources for getting started?

Thanks.
