You could create a program to monitor a data queue.  Create an output queue
using this data queue.  Write your program to copy the spool file in the
data queue to a data file.  Then read the data file into your program and
pump it out to the printer using your RPG program code.  It's not very
elegant but it'll get the job done.
The Printer Device Programming manual on the IBM web site
(http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/) describes the format of the entries
placed on the data queue.
