Rich, is this a network attached printer, or is it parallel/serial?  How are
you planning to attach to the iSeries?

I'd probably recommend some sort of network print server (HP jetDirect or
Lex MarkNet) that can support the interface of your printer.

Hi midrangers,

I'm in a situation where I would like to support a printer that is
unsupported natively by the iSeries.   

I've got the technical specs for the printer, and I've written RPG code
in the past to drive the printer, but I want this printer to be able to
accept any *SCS spooled file on the system, not just spools especially
written for this printer.

Can I write my own printer driver?

Any particularly good resources for getting started?
