You mean emulation cards for a PC?  They still work, though if you have
enhanced twinax controllers (Which you probably do if your system is
running V5R2) you may have to turn off the enhanced features of the
controller.

I've got notes on how to do that around here somewhere (it involves
creating a data area with certain values) if you're having trouble, I
could try to find those notes...

To give up twinax cards?   Well, they really don't make much sense to keep
using, since ethernet cards are less expensive and come with new PCs
nowadays, plus you can do so much more with ethernet than you can with
twinax...

But, on the other hand this should NOT stand in the way of upgrading their
operating system.  I wish people would stop using these ancient releases
of OS/400, it makes my life (answering questions in forums, writing
newsletters) much more difficult.
