Maybe it's the HOWTO that's the problem and not the emulator? :)

I guess I don't understand what you're asking... you don't know how to
change the color of the text?  For example, to make everything that's
normally green show up as red, and vice-versa, you'd do:

myprofile {
   host = myas400.example.com
   green = red
   red = green
}

then

$ xt5250 myprofile
or
$ gtk-5250 myprofile
or
$ tn5250 myprofile
or
C:\Program Files\TN5250> tn5250 myprofile
