The problem is that there is NO support for old systems from IBM. If anything goes south (which it will) it can't be fixed (for a reasonable cost anyway). Its not reasonable to bet a company's mission critical systems on computers that can't be supported. Its unfair to those that work hard in the organization not to be supported at the core where numbers get crunched and orders get processed. The oldest OS I support today is V4R3 and they are NOT going to upgrade this week. However, they DO understand the corner they are painted into. Jerry PS: A number of these systems still use twinax printers and a twinax tube or card here and there. Nlynx has a twinax card that allows the console session to be accessed over the TCP/IP network which is very useful. You can put the ole DSP01 on the shelf.
