James, Perhaps you are selling new product like hotcakes to people running V2R3, however I doubt it. There is a lot to the stone knife philosophy that if I can cut down a tree with it why do I need a chainsaw? However I like to use the new features, etc of the newer operating systems. And often I am quite vexed by vendor products that cater to obsolete operating system versions to the detriment of everyone else. I did like your comments in the earlier message. Why does everything have to be the "latest and greatest"? At Touchtone, we don't have a single product requiring anything beyond V4R2, and QuestView, our flagship product, will run quite happily on anything from a V2R3 machine (albeit with slower response times, and with some of the advanced features quietly disappearing) to V5Rwhatever, and will make use of a number of post-V2R3 OS features if it finds them. Like another list member just said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. -- JHHL _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
