OSD can also archive spooled files; we found it low on overhead. The tricky part is getting the users to agree a cut-off date - best to have a backup. Sometimes there are legal reasons for retaining the splfs for 5-10 years, & at least it doesn't have to be online. Just hope now that when a client requests a copy of any data held on them that they don't expect us to go through archives also!
