Speaking of closing the barn door... Broderick Data Systems' Spool Organizer (http://www.broderickdata.com/products.htm) is also a good one for saving spool files on the system and/or archiving them to tape. I've put it in place in two companies just for copying "critical' spool files into Spool Organizer's online repository. If everyone thinks they have to save everything into Spool Organizer it can get even more unwieldy than QSPL. If you can designate critical reports and route them into Spool Organizer then you can have a real backup for must-have reports. -Jim James P. We have accounting people here who have many spool files out in their outq and for many months and they do not want to get rid of them, because they do go back and look at them or audit purposes. Our solution was to buy a product from Advanced Systems Concepts called Esend. This allows users to email the spool file to their email address as a pdf and then they can save it to their hard drive or a cd or both. This works well for them and they love it. Esend also has some other additional features that are very useful too. You should check it out go to WWW.ASC-ISERIES.COM or call them at 847-605-1311 ............. it is priced very nicely.
