Not sure of your version, but on my V5R1 system there are some additions to the CHGFTPA command. Initial name format . . . . . . NAMEFMT *LIB *LIB, *SAME, *PATH Initial directory . . . . . . . CURDIR *CURLIB *CURLIB, *SAME, *HOMEDIR Initial list format . . . . . . LISTFMT *DFT *DFT, *SAME, *UNIX And in the User Profile there is a place to put the *HOMEDIR Try playing around with these parms. you may get what you need.
