Tom and all, 1) The server is a Win NT 4.0 system 2) My client is a V4R5 iSeries 3) The 400 is doing a PUT to the Win NT system 4) The NT system is the receiving machine When I use a PC with Windows XP FTP from the command line, the transfer works fine. >From the iSeries I can transfer the same file to two other FTP sites (NT & Linux) without incident. On the server that doesn't work I have system administrator privileges. I am using passive mode on the iSeries for all transfers. Very odd...since the same iSeries can transfer the file to two other machines (one NT 5.0 and the other a Linux ISP system), I find it hard to think it is a issue on the 400's end. But there is a managed 3Com switch in the mix. I know little about managed switches, so I don't know if it could re-route the traffic or not (though I find it hard to believe). Since I can do this from a PC, the other end believes the problem is on the 400. Since I can send files to other servers, I think it is their server. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Patrick Tom wrote: Patrick, I've been trying to follow this thread but there are confusions. (1) What system is the FTP server running on? (2) What system are you running the client on? (3) Is the client doing a PUT or a GET? (4) What part does the Windows NT 4.0 server play? Please answer those for both the case when it works and when it fails. Thanks.
