I have access. I am able to send files all day long from a PC with the same user id. It burps only when I use the AS/400. (V4R2). -----Original Message----- From: Chris Bipes [mailto:chris.bipes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, June 27, 2003 12:40 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: FTP Issue You have create authority but not update. FTP first creates the destination file, then updates it. Have them give you UPDATE authority to the directory. Chris Bipes -----Original Message----- From: Shrader, Patrick Folks, Trying to debug an FTP server. I can FTP to an external site and start a file transfer. A zero byte file is created on the Windows NT 4.0 server, but no bytes are ever transmitted. Had the same issue last week with an internal server. I had previously had my network wiring running through cheap router into a 3Com switch. When I removed the router from the managed switch the FTP stopped working. Placing the router back in-line fixed the problem. Now I see the same issue to this external site. I know VERY little about managed switches. Could it be my problem? Could the switch be affecting the traffic adversely? Any hints would be appreciated. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
