Mergers of this sort have a pattern. The pattern ends in about 2 to 3 years with one company surviving, and the total number of employees at about the same number as the larger of the two companies involved. The purchased company's products are no longer salable, nor even functional, and everyone is very sad about how it didn't work out. The people responsible have already harvested their millions, and have moved on to causing destruction in other arenas. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Monday, June 02, 2003 1:46:30 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Peoplesoft to buy JDE I really don't think there is any major ramification. they don't overlap products, really, so it is really just a business merger. Most likely it will end up as tighter integration and software suites. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shields, Ken" <kenshields@xxxxxxx> To: "'Midrange Mailing LIst'" <Midrange-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 2:26 PM Subject: RE: Peoplesoft to buy JDE > Hi All > I am aware that JD Edwards is a large /400 supplier of business software.
