There's a fair amount of overlap. JDE is viewed as a competitor to PeopleSoft. I think you can look at JDE as an ERP or pseudo-ERP that's light on the HR/Benefits/Compensation side and targeted toward manufacturing businesses. And you haven't worked with very many software vendors if you think there will be tighter integration. :) -Jim
