| ... you WRKCFGSTS *CTL RM* and see the controller ACTIVE and all the
| devices under it VARY ON PENDING ! ! ! !

Dag...! I missed that part-about the CTLD (ooops, what USED-ta be called
"CUD") being ACTIVE...! ! ! ! ? ! The hail ya say...!! Haven't seen THAT
much, if ever...!!! Daggondest thing is that you'd think if the things can
auto-config theirselves, you're getting SOME sort-a good connection to the
terminals.

Btw, message text of CPP1236 follows, and may help if Perle support doesn't
come up with anything:

 Message ID . . . . . . . . . : CPP1236
 Message file . . . . . . . . : QCPFMSG
   Library . . . . . . . . . : QSYS

Message . . . . : APPN session timed out following device selection.
 Cause . . . . . : After device &4 was selected for starting a session
from
location &5 to location &6 in network &7, the session could not be
started.
A timeout occurred while attempting to bind a session. The problem
identifier is &2. The error log identifier associated with this problem
is
   &3.

I've seen bind timeouts, but don't recall causes. Mebbe PRTERRLOG will
help, but had hit-or-miss luck with it in past (probably as I ain't muchuva
hardware jock). Good luck 'n let us know.
