It has been varied on and off, turned on and off, deleted, recreated
auto and manually (via a RTVCFGSRC), controller reconfigured, you name
it - you WRKCFGSTS *CTL RM* and see the controller ACTIVE and all the
devices under it VARY ON PENDING ! ! ! !

I'm headed back tomorrow after recreating the stuff at work (latest rev
is on my desktop and didn't have my notebook with me today...)

Very doubtful it would help (since you auto-config'd everything):  Vary
off/on control unit??  Vary/power off/on, mebbe??

Since CUD appears to be buggered, are any messages (on QSYSOPR)
regarding the control unit helpful a-tall??  (Ahhhh..... luv-ta deal
with hardware
problems...;-)
