Joe, >When will we learn? It's like our mothers used to ask us: if everyone >jumped off a bridge, would you? Evidently in IT the answer is "Yes". Dilbert once ran a strip sub-titled "Young Dilbert" where, as a boy with a skateboard under his arm, he asks his mother for permission to go skateboarding at a construction site with his friends. She asks, "If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you do that to?" Dilbert responds, "Well, that depends on a lot of factors, including height, training, and equipment. But if 100% of the participants said they enjoyed it -- as in my skateboarding example -- then I would conclude that it was safe." He continues, "A better question might have been: 'If everyone else wore clothes, would you do that too?' " In the last frame he is seen walking off with his skateboard in hand, thinking "She loses more credibility every day..." Doug
