In a pure iSeries environment, it works like that. But if your remote outq is actually directed to a printer (say, and HP printer with a JetDirect card), or to anything else (non-iSeries) runnning LPR, then there's no remote outq (per se) involved. Then it's up to the printer to do what's necessary... and if it can't, then you'll have to move back to the source system.... That is what the utility from QUSRTOOL that Al referred to did. It added the separator page to the job stream when streaming the data to the printer (or the remote queue, if you like). The remote outq is simply a way to redirect a spooled file from an outq on your machine to an outq on another machine. At that point, the handling of the spooled file is up to the remote machine. Unless I'm mistaken, to change the characteristics of how that machine works, you'd have to log on to that machine, find the printer associated with the output queue, and change its SEPPGM parameter.
