Joe,

Let's back up. I have been doing BSC interconnections since the
System/34 needed a Black Box converter to speak ASYNC via an RPG-TP BSC
connection. Fortunately I have not had to do much of it lately as most
users, except some Banks have moved to other platforms.

The RJE support in both the AS/400 and the Series/1 (What OS ?) is
client only designed to talk with an IBM Mainframe. An the protocol flow is
another opportunity, who dials the link does not necessary specify the flow
of data, you need to look at the ENQ/ACK flow, and may need to do a dummy
line turn around on connection. You also need to ensure that you specify the
same Inter Record Separators (IRS) and block sizes.

I will look around and see if I can find my tool kit library which
has a bunch of skeleton CLP and RPG for the 400 side. My Series/1 EDX stuff
is most likely on 8" floppy disk, which means Not usable.

        JMS,,,
