Never worked before. I'm using a modem eliminator (AS400 and Series/1 in same building). I'm using *RJE as the program on the AS400 side. using rs232v24, RTS does not seem to stay up on the as400 side. Thanks for your questions. How is it supposed to dial (manual, dial on DTR, V25bis, etc)? What kind of modem? Has the modem lost its configuration for some reason? Is the phone line good? Have you plugged a phone into the modem or where the modem plugs in to see if there is a dial tone? If you call the same number your system is calling, do you get an answer? Is it a modem answer tone? Does the modem dial? Does it get and answer? Does the CD/LSD ligth come on? Stay on? Do you get any errors from your RJE application? Any errors on QSYSOPR? What about the other end? What is it? JES? Is the appropriate remote started? Did this used to work before? Did anything change on either end? -Marty --__--__-- From: jleyden@co.la.ca.us To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Subject: RE: BSC line Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2001 20:57:22 -0000 Reply-To: midrange-l@midrange.com Sorry, I couldnt get back earlier but I still need help, please. My problem is that only the "LINE" stays active (see below). I'm not an AS400 expert but I was told as displayed on the terminal, it is: LINE --------------- ACTIVE CONTROLLER -------- VARYON PENDING DEVICE -------- VARYON PENDING and the application from BSC "LINE" is RJE. using my black box, RTS does not come high but when "LINE" is varied off and on, it does something runs, all lights lit mommentarily seeming to wait for some kind of response. Then in a few seconds the RTS drops and nothing again.
