The only thing I remember is... Once the initial connection is made the
control of the connect is turned over to the Application. No application
or incorrect programming will cause the line to drop. SDLC on the other
hand depending on it's cfg could stay up with no app for a very long time.

to talk RJE2780 or similar ????
need help here .... I cant let the line stay up.
RTS drops eventually.
