I'll be going T1 as soon as I get a permanent residence (we're renting right now, but moving into a house this year hopefully). DSL is indeed cheap, but I'm not thrilled with the response at times - for example, I'm paying for 416Kbps, but I only get 30Kbytes. They claim that that's equivalent to 300Kbps. This is interesting, because I thought start and stop bits went away a long time ago, and more annoying is the response that, "yeah, 300 is about average for a 416 line). Ugh. Joe P.S. Why did Covad drop you? I've got Covad/Rhythms here. > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com > [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of makins@hannasteel.com > Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2001 8:29 AM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: *** ADMIN: Probable web site outage! > > > > Amen, > > I have been dropped by Covad/Bluestar, switched to Connectsouth and now > Connectsouth is bankrupt and I could lose service at any time.
