Exactly why I am using PacBell, my local Telco, as my DSL / ASP provider at
home.  Now if they will only finish programming the brand new fiber attached
DSL node down the street from me, my service might stay up at night when I
am on line.  It is pain full to be the first one on a brand new service.

May this be a lesson to all you DSL customers- DSL providers are
dropping like flies!  If you are using DSL for any mission critical
data, check the financial stability of your provider!  If you choose to
stay with them, have a backup plan ready to execute.  Sure all those
alternative providers came on cheeper than the local Telco, but the
Telco was there 40 years ago and likely will be in 40 more.  It's your
data.
