Your text :know a few major differences between AIX and SCO. I

...Support got to be the #1 difference. (my opinion) I Don't know anything
about SCO. As far as platforms go, AIX involves some must have schools, or
so it is said. The AS/400 is getting that way...

Your text :need to know where
Your text :to find an admin manual and I need a list of basic
Your text :commands.

System CD's, bookmanager if I recall.
You can read it online at
http://www.rs6000.ibm.com/cgi-bin/ds_form?config=/usr/share/man/info/en_US/a
_doc_lib/data/base.cfg

====================
Your text :hoping there is very little difference between AIX
Your text :and other flavors but
Your text :with *nix you just can't be sure.

Most of the unix commands do work as advertised (I used a non-aix lowest
common denominator flavor book to practice, most also have extra switches
(bonus value huh)
I started running into trouble with the C++ compiler against the POSIX
libraries (using 4.3) It is a different animal.
The shell's work as expected. It was fairly friendly to installing other
tools, most places I looked had the AIX binaries, witch is a must unless you
like "makes". It's been years since I have used AIX but I wanted you to get
something in quick turnaround.
