Art,
You will recollect that I had a lot of trouble with our new 270 some weeks
back. Now that we are happily up and running here is my advice (for what
it's worth) based on first hand experience-

MDC's Motorway Map (sorry, interstate to most you guys)
1. Ignore IBM Roadmap, (IMHO it's the worst manual IBM ever shipped with a
new box)
2. Do NOT restore SAVSYS or any SAVLIB *NONSYS libaries or objects or
authorities
(Al is right, you will screw up QUSERSYS, we had to do a scratch install
to recover)
3. Install any 3rd party (or your own) software from the source tapes/CDs
4. Restore user data libaries as normal
5. Restore any required directories individually to the IFS
6. Setup user profiles and manually grant any authority needed
7. Configure comms., TCP etc., start subsystems and off you go!
8. Rewrite & re test your disaster recovery procedures (only applies to a
mixed level OS envirnoment)

Above works fine from any RISC OS level when you don't have hundreds of
usersl. The old box can be left RUNNING during it all, i.e. NO OS upgrade
needed.
Good luck,

Mike Dunnion
