FYI: Yes, you can use the IP address. Also, your PC does not need access to a DNS server to use this. You can either put in the pure IP address, or put in the name as you have in your HOSTS file (usually located in C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS. If this file doesn't exist copy the file C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS.SAM to C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS and edit it. .SAM stands for Sample).
