Jack, I don't think your statement was out of line. In fact, a substantial number people who sell software subscribe to this list. The decision on how to price their software can be a hard one. Vendors need to hear feedback from end-users. For instance, it was refreshing for me to find that www.seacrest.com actually published "screen shots" and prices on their website. Seems to me that most AS/400 software vendors do too much generalization on their web sites, and that a "discussion" of price is only offered by a salesman. <snip> Maybe I was a little out of line in my statement. They do have an excellent product but they wanted us to pay several thousand dollars more to continue using it on our new system. And the total cost of using their product became more than we wanted to pay. It might not seem expensive to others so I guess I should have kept my opinions to myself. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation! <end snip> +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
