RANTMODE(*ON) The day that hell freezes over. IBM doesn't give a flaming @#$% about the AS/400, because there's nobody in the entire organization (Rochester excluded) that knows how to use one. Even IBM doesn't use AS/400's. I had an emergency support call from a relatively new AS/400 customer (3 years) yesterday. I asked them how they liked the AS/400, and they said that they loved it. The IS guy's comment is that he replaced a staff of 17 running MVS with 4 AS/400 people. Instead IBM just loves to pay too much money to run under MVS. Give me a break, if IBM advertised the AS/400, they'd get better market share. If they used the AS/400, they have higher up time, internal user satisfaction and save money. (Hey Lou, and you listening? I doubt it, because IBM's current management technique is anything for a fast dollar. The hell with customer sat. Lou, you want to make a fast buck, sell the AS/400 Division. But once you do, you better get out of the computer business, because no one could compete with a well run AS/400 Company!) RANTMODE(*OFF) With regard to AS/400 advertising, there were ads 12 years after the AS/400's introduction with the M*A*S*H crew, when IBM used them for advertising.
