Bill, That much data is really not out of the question for FTP if you have a decent Ethernet connection to the mainframe. Have you tried it to see what the time is? If the frame sizes are large enough you might get pretty decent throughput. Or, how about using SNADS or DISOSS to transfer the files? If you have VM on the mainframe you can use SNADS to RSCS. If you are going to MVS you can use DISOSS. Or, how about zipping the file on the AS/400, transferring with FTP, then unzipping on the mainframe?
