XML allows Remote Procedure Calls.

Think about that. I can run a program on a remote system and get some data
back.

WHAT remote system? Who cares?

My RPG program running a VB program on a Windows 2000 box somewhere.

Interconnectivity ... openness ... seamlessness ... THINK of the
possibilities.

P.S. I'll take the comfort, performance and safety of my 2000 C280 over any
1969 whatever.

Yeah XML is just a superset of SGML nothing really new just more
non-standard standards (kinda like the ANSI X12).
I have seen a few things that XML might be useful for but I can't really
justify delving into XML while the standards comity is still up in the
air about it.
It appears to me that Brad is right, just because its new doesn't mean
it is the best. I still drive a two door 69 Impala (since high school)
and my brother is going through his second late model car. To me old
reliable is always better than new unstable. And since there seems to be
a technology turnover rate of less than six months you can afford to
wait until XML becomes more standard, and stable (IMHO).

(This is me preparing to be flamed)
