take a look in the SNA Distribution Services manual.

Check out  Appendix D. Configuring AS/400 VM/MVS Bridge Support for MVS/JES

It uses SNADS and the queue type is RPDS.

If I (mis)remember the interesting part was getting the MVS to auto logon
when qsnads subsystem  is started.
I think the MVS guys used net-view to caputre the incoming message and then
do the logon.
Otherwise you have to be watching for the message and do the logon
manually.
