If it was rewritten in "C" at v4r4 then why do I see:

Start of terminal session.
 Start of debug session.
Qualification at QTGTNTLN/<MAIN-PROGRAM>
PASCAL Mode : (QTGTNTLN/<MAIN-PROGRAM>)

I started the telnet session to the loopback interface on our v4r4 system.

Telnet Server was re-written to 'C' beginning in V4R4.
