We've been using it more and more often.  It's easier to get *nix platforms
to FTP data into it than into the QSYS file system.

CPYTOSTMF and RPG IV programs.  I can send you some prototypes of IFS
reading code if you want.

You can do it from Windows with Explorer or from the AS400 with WRKLNK or
MD

>3) How does someone set the default Public permissions on new objects?

Can't answer with that one, but I'd love to hear about it.  We use the IFS
for "transient" files, so security isn't quite as urgent an issue as with
the QSYS file system.
