With regard to question 1, we have found that error recovery is indeed "similar" (as in not exactly the same). When you create yours PSF configuration (*PSFCFG), pay attention to the parameter ACKFRQ. This affects the number of pages that will print before the printer sends an acknowledgement to the writer.
