We did our own application. Not too difficult using DDS to create a printer file with the OVERLAY and PAGSEG keywords. There have been some nice enhancements in V4R3M0. You will need the MICR font for the funny little characters at the bottom of the cheque. We purchased a modified IBM Network Printer 12 from Rosetta Technologies. Apparently the magnetic toner requires a higher temperature than you get with off-the-shelf laser printers, to adhere to the paper. I think they supplied the font too. You can visit their Web site at http://www.rosettatechnologies.com/ <http://www.rosettatechnologies.com/> . We created our overlays on a PC using ISIS. We upload them to the AS/400 and create the overlays (object type *OVL). Page segments (*PAGSEG) are also created on a PC and uploaded. These are the hard parts which require someone with a good feeling for doing graphic design work on a PC. It's a fun project. I know there is a product by ACOM out there, but it seems pretty pricy for what you get. Any comments by anyone??
