> Here's my attitude (which I've had since about 1988): > > Screw ALL companies! > > I don't care what position you hold, how long you've been there, or how > much dough they pay you, you are still just a number. When economic > circumstances are such that you services aren't needed, they'll cut your > heart out. And trust me---THEY DON'T CARE. And if they tell you different, > they are lying to you. hmm. you are wrong! we've cared about all our employees. the main problem we have had is that they feel that we are taking advantage of them, and they quit to then compete with us. or some have left because they don't like the stress of contract work, and they prefer going to the same place everyday. i can understand that, and have kept good relationships with programmers that leave under those conditions. but what makes me the most angry is when they lie. a few years ago, one quit telling us he was going to work full time for a company down in south oklahoma. later we found out he formed his own company, and was sending solicitation letters, etc, to our customers. mind you, he was also a minister, who couldn't understand why he had so many problems with his children lying! learned from dad, don't ya think. it still chaps me. nj
