You have the first box announced for the AS/400 line.
It would appear that you have at least one communication line
You have a PC with W/95 or NT
You have a very old version of OS/400 (NOT Y2K ready)

Here are your choices:

1. You can buy a emulation card from a number of different vendors.
2. You will need a remote emulation to dial in.
3. You will need a SDLC modem at the remote site.
4. You will have to configure a remote device on the 400 (EASY)
5. You need to inform management of OS/400 problem and that you
will proably need help upgrading OS/400 to V3R2
6. When talking to vendors about remote emulation software, you
will need emulation with file transfer (assume no CA/400 on your box)
7. I would consider Wall Data,Micro Intergration,Synapse, and if
you can get a copy of either Midrange Computing Or News/400 you
will find several other vendors... TCP/IP & ethernet are not one
   of your options..
8. You will be able to attach pc at your current config with very
   few problems..

Once you make your decision which way you want/need to go, post
another message and we can be of more help with 400 questions
regarding "how to do it"...
