Well, so far I would say that I've installed more than 50 RISC versions
and releases from CDs. I have *yet* to have a failure on reading. The
early RISC opticals were much more sensitive, but, again no failures
that I've see.
Now tape... I *have* had failures there, and one in particular left the
machine as a vegatable requiring a *scratch* install from the full
backup I took *just* before the install.
As always, take that backup. It *is* critical.
