Verifying Optical

Is there a good way on the 400 to verify the distribution CD-ROM's ?

I am getting ready to upgrade to V4R3 (Our first upgrade on CD-ROM) and would
like to make sure that there are no defects in the CD's before I begin

I looked at the VFYOPT command but I am not sure if this does anything other 
than
verify that the drive is operational
