Thanks Bruce -

I am on V4R2 and I have already completed that part of the upgrade
procedure.

It reads the directory but there is NO way it can verify the CD in the
few seconds it is accessing the disk.

Maybe it is no longer necessary to validate media because the
probability of failure is so low ?
