Herb:
Quick advertisement, this is something that my company does... with that
said, there are a zillion ways to do it. A lot depends on how much you want
to spend per month for bandwidth, if your company already has an internet
connection etc. A quick solution would be to get a dedicated IP address
from a local ISP with a dedicated dial up account. This is usually a pretty
cheap solution. From there you can set up a proxy server that will allow
you to set up security to protect your internal network. We usually install
a product called WinProxy. If you have any detailed questions let me know,
or if we can help also let me know.

Subject: AS400 Access from Internet

|Company just received their 9406/170 and is interested in connecting to
|the Internet. What they want is their remote employees to loggon the
|Internet and access the AS400 from there. That way they don't have to
|fuss with dial-up lines or accessing from clients' sites.
|I have not found much of anything that I could determine would be
|useful. If anyone could shine some light on the situation/references, I
|would greatly appreciate it.
|Thank You.
